No more paci!

Monday morning you and Griffin were playing in his room and the next thing I know when its time for a nap I know something is wrong. We went to your bed and there was NO paci! You had snatched it out of your bed, where we normally leave it after bed, and had somehow lost it while playing. I looked up and down the house and couldn’t find it anywhere. We had a play date at Bounce USA and this is how you felt about being there with no paci.

Then we came home for your afternoon nap and you proceeded to scream for 1 hour before finally passing out at 230. Typically you had already napped 2 hours by then and were going down for a 2nd nap. Needless to say you were tired.

Tuesday after school I decided I would try and rock you to sleep. You’ve never been one who liked to be rocked before and always wanted to just lay down in your bed and fall asleep on your own. It worked and I enjoyed snuggling for oh about 10 minutes but when I tired to put you in the bed you then screamed for an entire 1.5 hours after before finally passing out.

Night time has been just as bad. We’ve been putting you in bed early so you can get all your screams out before its actually time for your brother to go to bed. Last night you got up again at 4 and 6 before getting up for good at 7. Whenever you wake up you just scream, “Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, Mommy”….. and on and on and on. Its really pitiful and I do feel bad for you. We of course have been going in about every 10 minutes or so to tell you you’re okay, and trust me you’re VERY tired!

I knew we would try and get rid of it sooner than later but with you losing it, it doesn’t give mommy the out of giving up and getting it back to you… I cant ha!

Hopefully you will learn that there is new big boy life without a paci and that you don’t need it anymore…. SOON! Until then we will endure the cries knowing this too shall pass Smile
